How are you today? Perhaps M will be there to see you today or tomorrow. I hope you had a nice visit with B on Sunday.
I know it’s hard for you to fix and mend things, although I know you do some now and then. We are always fixing things!
I joined in again with J yesterday. Keeping his very old Landrover up to scratch and running is an ongoing job, and he recently started to give it a good service.
Naturally, he spotted a few things that are not so much ‘service‘ as ‘things to be fixed‘.
One such is the windscreen pillar – it was rusty and once he started to rub it down great big bits fell off, leaving gaping holes.
I enjoy ‘making good’ so I did the filling with a resin mixture. It was quite hot and sunny and I didn’t want to mix it in full sun.
Out came a brolly. Here’s a picture of the set-up for working on the spot.
As you know J has taken up kayaking. That’s one of the boats on the roof.
He uses the Landrover for most of his outdoor fun trips – that leaves the van always available to me.
Quite right – besides, the van doesn’t have a roof-rack, and I don’t want it to either.
The filling was a small job and I enjoy doing things like that. I don’t think it will be at all visible when it’s painted.
Today it’s a bit rainy, so we might have to wait a day or so.
We would be happy to fix things for you too.
Perhaps you could start a little ‘to do’ list to show us next time we visit.
It’s often the little things that get neglected – or just forgotten.
Love,
